About us

BTS is the Student Society at Høgskulen på Vestlandet, campus Bergen. Where Høgskulen is responsible for the academic, BTS is responsible for the social for students at HVL. BTS is Norway's second oldest student organization, founded in 1877. We have long traditions that have shaped the organization over the years and make us what we are today. Many of the traditions are still alive and well, and our most famous are associated with 17 May. We have a representative on the May 17 committee and over the years have won several awards in the procession. Our satirical newspaper TVIST-dotten is published every year on 17 May. In addition, we contribute fleets to the procession.

BTS consists exclusively of volunteer students who want to contribute to making their own and other students' study time as good as possible. We work hard to fill all students' needs and wishes, through a number of activities and opportunities. This can be anything from knitting socks for the children's department at Haukeland to trading shares with the share group  Invest . We conduct elections once a semester, where YOU can apply and get a job. Send us a message if you have any questions. We are happy to have a chat!

If you want to find out more about the different groups, you can find this here.

Where can you find us?

BTS's office is located on the Kronstad campus, at the Student House next door to Kronbar. The building is also referred to as the H-building. Here you just have to stop by for a nice chat, loan of various equipment or if you yourself want to join BTS.
